English Ver The Egyptians will know that I am the LORD

That is what I was wondering as I read the Bible. Why did God harden the Pharaoh's heart? God can change the heart of men.

If so, God could have made Pharaoh's mind obedient. If God did, the Israelites would have been able to leave Egypt easily and quickly.

But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt, he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites. And the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.

(Exodus 7:3-5 NIV)

I read these words repeatedly. And I noticed. God had a purpose. That's "the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD".

Pharaoh's heart was hardened, so Moses and Aaron went to the king many times and fought him. God made a miracle each time, revealing Himself to be a true God. By the hardness of Pharaoh's heart, God testified of His greatness.

I want to remember this. God is far beyond ours. God is greater than the greatest king in the world.
