完全な愛は恐れを取り除く
先日、ある大学の模擬講義に出席する機会がありました。
30年以上小学校の教師をしてきた大学教授による講義で、実験を交えながらどのようにして子どもたちに自然界の出来事について関心を引き起こしながら理科を教えていくか、という内容のものでした。
大変分かりやすく、また興味深い内容の講義だったのですがその中で先生がこんな話をされたのが特に心に残りました。
授業中子どもたちに発言を求めると、なかなか手が上がらないことがあります。
子どもたちの心の中に「自分は答えを知っている」「発言したい」という思いがあっても、「間違ったら恥ずかしい」「失敗したら先生に怒られる」などの恐れの感情ゆえに挙手や発言が出来なくなってしまうのです。
教師は子どもたちのそのような恐れを取り除き、自信を持ってチャンレンジできるように彼らの可能性を引き出す努力をする必要があるのです。
聖書には次のように書かれています。
愛には恐れがない。完全な愛は恐れをとり除く。恐れには懲らしめが伴い、かつ恐れる者には、愛が全うされていないからである。
＜新約聖書・ヨハネの第一の手紙4章18節 口語訳＞
イエス・キリストは私たちの素晴らしい教師です。
十字架によって示された完全な愛により、私たちの心から恐れを取り除こうとしてくださっているのです。
私の心の中にも様々な恐れがあります。
私はその恐れを、キリストによって完全にぬぐい去っていただきたいです。

English Ver “Perfect love drives out fear.”
I attended a lecture of a university the other day. It was a science lecture. The instructor was a university professor. He is a person who has been teaching elementary school for thirty years. Through the lecture, he made us think about "how to teach science intriguingly for children". That was a very interesting lecture. The words he said in that were very impressive.
He said,
Children often hesitate to talk when teachers try to make their children express their opinions during class. Because they have fear in their hearts.
"If I make a mistake, the teacher may get angry."
"If I make a mistake I am ashamed."
If they have fear, they will not be able to speak even if they have their own opinion.
Removing fear from the hearts of children is an important role for teachers. If teachers can so, the teachers will be able to increase the potentials of the children.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Jesus is our wonderful teacher. He will remove fear from our hearts through perfect love that is shown by the Cross. There is also fear in my heart. I want my fear of heart to be completely removed by Jesus Christ.
